Dan is available for programs of all kinds, from concerts in arts centers, libraries, schools and churches to performances at festivals and intimate house concerts.

A few additional possibilities are:
  • Meet the Composer Sessions- Engage audiences in question and answer sessions, discussing background research, inspiration and the process of songwriting

  • Songwriting Workshops- Provide an understanding of basic song types and components, illustrate with examples, guide brainstorming sessions for song creation and critique

  • History of Adirondack Music Workshops- Guide participants through the recorded and oral history of folk music from the Adirondack region using artifacts, archival recordings as well as live performances

  • Writing from Life Workshops- Engage students through discussion and demonstration in what it means to be a writer, what it takes to create poems/songs, guiding them through the stages of observation, research, creation of lyric and music (fourth grade - local, regional, NYS history; eighth grade - language arts, poetry)

Performance options include Dan solo or in combination with various fellow performers: Ed Lowman, Dan Duggan,  Peggy Lynn,  John Kirk and Trish Miller,  Alex Smith, author Andy Flynn, and photographer Carl Heilman II. Several of these folks also call square and contra dances, so that's a possibility, too.

To discuss your needs, email Dan via the contact us page of this website.
