TONGUES IN TREES CD TOPS ON THE RADIO IN 2013!
North American radio broadcasters with folk programs have an annual list of albums that received the most airplay. I'm pleased to say mine was one of them, and the song from Tongues in Trees with the most airplay was Capitalist Without a Soul, with Occupy This Moment coming in second. For this, and all my recordings, visit My Albums Page
The life of this iconic folk singer and humanitarian was the subject of many tributes, news stories and commentaries, and it transcended the news of his death at almost 95 years of age. Here's a feature that the Capital Region's public radio station WAMC put together: http://wamc.org/post/regions-musicians-saddened-seegers-death
FOR PETE'S SAKE - THE ALBUM
Wepecket Island Records in Massachusetts asked me to contribute a couple of songs to their Pete Seeger tribute album. All profits from the CD will go to the Clearwater Foundation. You can hear a couple of clips, and order it, here: http://www.wepecket.com/WI026.htm
SONGS TO KEEP
It was an honor to be a part of this multi-faceted project about folk song collector Marjorie Lansing Porter. (Pete Seeger visited her in the early 1950s and recorded a number of Adirondack songs learned from her collection.) The collaboration involved a documentary produced by Mountain Lakes PBS, a series of concerts, a songbook, and a CD. The songbook and CD are available from Traditional Arts in Upstate New York: http://tauny.org/subpages/9/167/3/songs-to-keep
